Throughout 2005 Waukegan Harbor staff laid the groundwork for the renovation of our South Marina docks, coordinating the environmental, design and financial efforts.  In 2006 these efforts accelerated with the introduction of the slip size mix planning.  To date we have hired the renowned marina design engineering team from JJR, LLC., applied for the permits necessary to construct new docks, and continued investigating the most cost-effective financing options.  We anticipate starting phase one of the project in the fall of 2007.
